Personal Info

I am Head of Audit and Business Services in Ashgates. I have a very varied portfolio of clients who are generally small and medium sized entities ("SME's"). My involvement varies from those clients that simply want an excellent and efficient compliance service to those who require much more active involvement in helping them drive change and development as their business grows and develops. I see myself as a trusted advisor, working to deliver the support my clients need, in some cases even acting as a non-executive director.

  • Qualifications :
    FCA (Chartered Accountant), FCCA, BSc
  • Experience :
    I have been working in professional practice since 1995, with my first eight years being at one of the top ten international firms of accountants. I moved to Ashgates in 2003 and became a Partner in 2006. I have a strong background in audit work and all forms of accounts and tax compliance. I also have significant experience of tax planning matters, advising on business structures and strategies for growth and profits, change management, HR and recruitment issues and longer term planning.

Indeed, as Partners running our own small business, we often find our own experiences are valuable when advising and assisting clients on all sorts of ad-hoc matters. I would describe the firm as thoroughly professional but very friendly and approachable.
  • Personally speaking :
    Away from work, I am a family man with twins that keep me pretty busy! I also have an active interest in music playing piano, keyboard and guitars.
